Laundry Rooms

A room dedicated to washing, drying, ironing and household linens, maybe stitching on a lost button. Laundry rooms are sometimes thought of as descendants of the scullery, both having water and washing as in common. A Plain English laundry room can be simple with open shelves and room for appliances, or they can include laundry baskets on wheels, a housekeeper’s cupboard for ironing board, with a combination of open shelving, drawers and cupboard storage. For higher ceilings perhaps a wooden overhead drying rack and slatted shelving for airing pressed items.
