A Georgian style 1920’s family home realigned and decorated by interior designer and owner Jeffrey Alan and Greg Marks. Set within acres of greenery with trees and parkland, enjoyed through the copious windows throughout. The kitchen space continues to share light and offer glimpses through, with glazed screens separating the main kitchen space from an intimate bar area, perfect for pre-dinner drinks. Boarded walls and ceiling painted in gloss, reflect light and create a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Spitalfields cupboards painted in ‘Mushy Peas’ with glazed cupboard interiors hand painted in ‘Silver Polish’ for added warmth and softness, while giving storage for glasses, bottles and Butler’s pantry essentials.
An essential client request – two islands within the kitchen, one for food prep’, storage and serving, the other to act as more of a ‘table’, a worktable for family breakfasts, reading the paper and children’s art projects – important space to gather for family time, with deep drawers for storage – keeping the space clear. The main run of sink cupboards, sit quietly and well-mannered to maintain window focus. Simple wall shelving on each side. A row of tall cupboards conceals a generous fridge and freezer alongside a double larder for dry foods, breakfast items and snacks, close to the stove and main cooking hub. Wall space remains clear allowing the feature gloss boarded walls and ceiling to reflect light and remain quietly linear. Feature lanterns hang low over each Island offering plenty of light while continuing the verdigris green/blue color throughout. A contemporary elegance welcomes us in.
