Seaside Salt House
An extension to a Victorian Salt Shed provides a dramatic, top lit space for a seaside home. New internal structures and panelling were designed to enhance the effect of the double-height space and the expressive, wrought iron beams while a glazed screen allows ‘borrowed’ light into the rear of the building.
Our simplest ranges, Osea and Longhouse were chosen with plain panelled doors and iron handles to retain an industrial feel. Bianco Eclipsa worktops and French Grey joinery compliment the faded tones of the reclaimed timber and fittings used for much of the project.
A capacious larder is concealed behind a sliding panel and the bench like peninsula creates a working space for the cook which is both efficient and sociable.
